Simple Wedding Card

I had the urge to use my swiss dots embossing folder last night as I had to make a quick wedding card.

I have used the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Scallops to cut out the circles in the card. i then layered aceteate behind them to attach the hearts too. I love the heart in the centre of the card as it was the fist die i ever brought!!

Enjoy, Wendy X

Birthday scalloped Circles

I think you may have guessed now that I really like the scalloped circles and cutting holes in my cards.

I made this card for a good fried. I started by cutting 9 scalloped circles into the card and then layering behind it with a really hot pink card. The letters and butterfly were then added and a few gems to finish.

Enjoy, Wendy X

Happy Birthday

I love making birthday cards and for this particular design I have kept it simple.

I used the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Scallops to cut out 4 scalloped circles and then glued these onto the card. I then used the Nesting Circles to cut out 4 holes in the scalloped circles so as you can see you have a frame effect.

I then put some acetate behind the circles to mount the flowers on.

Enjoy, Wendy X

Easter bunnies

This cute bunny card is the perfect way to wish your loved ones a Happy Easter. I have chosen bold and bright colours to make the card stand out. Instead of using pattered paper which sometimes takes your attention away from the main card design, I have used Bazzill card in various colours and textures.

The bunnies themselves were made using the dog die for their bodies, pop up flowers for their ears and nesting circles for their heads. I have used a bow from a sundry die. If you are a die hoarder like me, you'll find a bow on one of those dies.

It's always fun to use Quickutz dies to make shapes other than what they were built for. I have used the dog die on many occassions to make bunnies and babies. So go and hunt through your dies and see what you can create.

Hoppy Easter!!

Nesting dies and pop up flowers

I am such a big fan of the Lifestyle Crafts nesting die shapes as they are such good value for money. For example in the nesting circles, you get 20 dies in total! I don't know any other company that offers that value for money.

I am also in love with the pop up flowers dies. They must be one of the most inexpensive set of dies I have but they are so flexible.

I created this card for my a friend. I wanted a chic stylish design and I think the chocolate and cream colours work wonders.

Baby on the way

A good friend is leaving work tomorrow to go on maternity leave so an ideal opportunity to make a card.

The card itself has been made using the nesting circle and scallop dies from Lifestyle Crafts.

The babies were made using the dog die to create the babies bodies and the pilgrim die for their heads. I used the paperdoll
4 X 8 alphabet for the letters.

Letterpress Blossoms

I really love the Letterpress blossoms plate. It is a nice big design which makes it easy to ink. What is also good is the red ink. It looks slightly brown in the tube, but once rolled on the brayer it is stunning.

I stamped the design onto Letterpress card and then divided it up into 9 squares. It gives the impression that the design has been exploded.

I then used the Paper Doll alphabet for the wording.

Letterpress Wedding Stationery

Letterpress screams Wedding stationery, so this week I thought I'd start to put some together starting with a 'save the date' card.

This card is so simple to make so mass production wouldn't be an issue. I have use the Lifestyle Crafts Spring Gift Set (SGS-10) to get the scalloped shapes. Basically, there are two scalloped shapes attached together with a brad. The Letterpress design is embossed into the top of the card and the bottom of the card can be used for the Wedding date / details.

More Dots and Dashes

In 'Love' with Dots and Dashes

This new alphabet I have has become my new 'Banana Split' (4 x 8 alpha). It's so versatile and what I really like about it is that it fits nicely onto many of the 'little extras' you get when buying a set of Lifestyle Crafts nesting dies.

To make this simple and elegant card,I used the little tag die from the Lifestyle Crafts A7 Essentials Collection Set - (L-CC-025) to cut the letters into. I then just used a heart die to finish the card.

I think this would be a perfect Wedding or Anniversary card.

Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress

I've been playing with the Letterpress again last night and I just love the wedding printing plates.

The design is simple enough that if you wanted to mass produce them for a wedding, it would be quite straight forward.

I added some gems just to dress the card up and make it unique.

I was a little annoyed with myself and my impatience, as after a lovely printed image I managed to get my hand on it and smudge the design. Oh well, will I ever learn!!!

Lifestyle Crafts Dots and Dashes

I just got this new alphabet from Lifestyle Crafts and I am in love. It's called Dots and Dashes and it was the Black Friday Release from 2010. It's still available (see below for stockist).

This little baby card was simple to make. You just need to cut the letters into the card and then layer some pink card behind it.

The baby was made with the Boy Dog Die (KS-0529). It was cut out twice and the arms were just fixed in place behind the body. The head was a one of the pilgrim dies.

Letterpress white on black

I'm still loving the Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress kit and couldn't wait to try the white ink on black card. I was being a litle impatient and wanted to finish the card so sprinkled some pearl emobossing powder on the letterpressed design and heat set.

I was really pleased with the outcome and wanted to create a stylish, girly card. I don't have loads of flower dies, so this large bloom was made the balloon nesting dies and a circle die to join the petals together.

Starting to feel better

What a week I've had. I've felt so poorly so I'm so pleased to start feeling slightly better again.

I dragged myself back to my craft room and made this card using the Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress.

The pink coloured ink I mixed myself using white and hot pink inks. I wanted a slightly darker ink than the pastel that is available, so mixing it yourself is the way to go. It's so easy too. You just need a pallete knife and a bit of elbow grease!

Enjoy!

Too poorly to post

Just wanted to write a little note apologising for not posting for a while.

I have tonsillitis but also I am plagued by a stinking headache and cough and have no energy to even enter my craft room.

Hopefully I will be back on my feet soon and make up for the length of time with no new projects :-(

Happy Mothers Day

I really liked using the green and white Bazzill Bling on the bunny basket and this inspired me to make a Mothers Day card.

This is really quick and simple and I just love the bold colours.

- Firstly cover your base card in yellow Bazzill Bling
- Take a piece of green Bazzill Bling the size of your card and cut the pop up flowers into the card. Stick to base card.
- Cut out 5 white pop up flowers. You will need your trusty craft knife to remove them as they are cut into the card, rather than cut out.
- Stick flowers to green flowers on base card.
- I had a small circle die to make the centre of the flowers. I layered it 3 times on each flower.
- Add some stems and leaves ro the flowers
- To finish add a pink border with desired greeting.

Lifestyle Crafts Dies used:
- Pop up Flowers (055-5)
- Scalloped cupcake liner (L-CC-009) for the leaves
- Billboard set (077-9 ) for the stems
- Banana Split 4 X 8 font

Well, I got my new toy out of the box. I couldn't wait to play with it.

I was really surprised how easy it was to use. The ink is amazing. It is very sticky and you need very little of it. I don't think any other ink on the market could give you a great effect.

Wedding Card / Invitation

I think I'm going wedding mad this week. Also, this is the 3rd time I've used this fantastic card shape from the Lifestyle Crafts Spring Gift Set.

I'm putting it down to the fact that I am in agony and not thinking straight due to my first Body Balance class last night. It's kind of like yoga but more intense.

Anyhow, I made this card using the abovementioned card shape and also the Lifestyle Crafts A2 Collection from the Essentials Range.

Firstly I cut out the card and then used the A2 collection to create the gate fold in the centre of the card. As always, alittle embossing never goes a miss.

Handy Little Bag

I love any shape that's got a scalloped edge, so it's no wonder I used the Lifestyle Scalloped Squares to make this handy little bag.

Instructions

- Take the largest die in the set of 4 and cut it out twice
- Emboss these two squares
- Trim a piece of card 22.5cm long by 6 cm's wide.
- Score the strip of card at 7.5cm intervals so you effectively have scored the card into 3
- Score down both sides of the strip of card 1cm in from each side.
- You now have formed the inside of the bag and you just need to stick the 2 scalloped squares to each side of the inner bag
- Decorate to finish

Just wanted to say Hi!

Just a quick little card to let someone know you are thinking of them.

Dies used:
- Special Delivery Gift Set - SGS-10-CC-I
- Pop up flower die set - CC-SHAPE-055-5
- Flirt Alphabet
- Leaves from scalloped cupcake liner - L-CC-009

Firstly I used the special delivery gift set to cut out the card shape. I then cut 3 of the pop up flowers into the card and backed the card with pale pink card.

I then cut the flowers in patterned paper and carefully cut them away from the paper with a craft knife (as they are pop up flowers, not all of the flower comes away from the paper you have cut into). I then glued the patterend paper onto the 3 flowers on the card.

The following dies have been used:
- Bride and Groom (CC-SHAPE-3-040)
- Flirt gift set - Hearts (SGS-09-FLIRT-I)

The bouquet was made using the rose in the set and cutting it out several time to later on the base.
