Feeling better!

I thought this would be a nice card to send someone that has been poorly but is now on the mend. I have used the new revolution train die but created the track myself. Still loving those 4x8 alphas and I have used Moonlight for the greeting.

What a night!!

What a night it was a Crafts U Love last night. We made some Christmas cards using none other than Quickutz (samples below). I have to thank everyone that came last night. It's always nice to see familiar faces. Big thanks to Tracy for her smashing tea making (Elaine I know you can vouch for this). A big thank you to Maralyn (Sharon's mum)for the most amazing apple cake she supplied to all - my husband also passes on his gratitude!

I have to apologise for my quick exit into the office towards the end of the evening but a hornet the size of a house was buzzing around the shop and I do not have a great relationship with anything that has more than 4 legs!

Anway, enjoy the cards!

Dinner date?

Owls seem to be a popular theme recently so I thought I'd have a go at putting my own together. Again, I used mainly the raindrop (KS0657) die but the owls feet came from the penguin die (KS-0602). A great card to send to someone you admire! Oh, must mention that the beak was from th e new 'timer die' RS-0755

Sunday 31st

I spent a fantastic day with friends crafting on Sunday (Sharon, Maralyn and Elaine) so I thought I'd share some of the cards I made. I do have to thanks the girls for a wonderful day and especially to Maralyn that kept us extremely well fed and watered.

Rolling Pin RS-0757
Timer RS-0755
Chef costumes - REV-0122-D

To finish this card I used some chalks. I also used some pigment inks for the flour effect!

Long time no post

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I've had a few days away at Alton Towers. What a fantastic time myself and my husband had. We went on all the mad rides, I feel like such a big kid!!! 'Air' was my favourite as it was a totally exhilarating experience. You hang from this rollercoaster, then you are tipped forward until you are parallel to the ground. You basically fly around at quite a speed on your front. Too cool!!!!

Hubby even took me to PDA Card and crafts factory (Best place for card blanks).

Hope to be posting some more designs soon.

Card for a friend

Having played with my dies today I came up with a card to send to a friend. I only used the raindrop die (KS-0657) and a basic circle punch to create the flowers and leaves. The font I have used is moonlight.

The inside of the card says 'I'd pick you'!

Baby bear

I just love making baby cards and I can't get enough of this little bear. The dies I have used to create the card are as follows: Polar bear (RS-0876), safety pins (KS-0506), Pig (KS-0525), peek-a-boo bunny (KS-0412), Moonlight 4x8 REV alpha.

Once you have assembled the pin, cut a little piece out of one of the sides to give the effect that it is attached.

The happy couple

Friends of mine are getting hitched this weekend (Gary and Nicola), so I thought it would be rude not to make them a card but also rude not to post it on my blog.

The brides dress is made purely from the party hat die (KS-0494). her hair was made from the pilgrim die (KS-0770) and the rainblow die (KS-0795). Everything else pretty much come from the paper doll die set. Mind you, the top hat did start out life as the tombstone (KS-0764).

More fairy fun

I am loving my fairies are the moment so have put together a little card using my favourite font (Dragonfly).

You could adapt these faries to make a lovely door hanger for a little girls bedroom (hmmm maybe something I could do for my nieces).

Enjoy!

All about the fairies

Sorry folks but I'm still in fairy mode following last weekends classes at Crafts U Love. I have to mention the lovely Maralyn who made the most scrumptous lemon cake especially for the class, thank you very much!

Anyway, cake aside, I have another fairy card for you. This time I am thinking ahead and starting to put some designs together for Christmas (my most truly favourite time of year - so watch out for those Christmas carols on my playlist in about a month or two's time!!!!).

The dies are the same as the other fairy card and I have also used the revolution Christmas tree (all available from Crafts U Love).

Aquarius

Another of my favourite alphas. The size of the one is great. On both cards I have mounted the letters on 3D foam pads but you could layer on top of each other for that faux chipboard effect. It is also nice to decorate with flowers. I may try punching it with patterned paper too!! I have used the following dies on the cards below: flip flops (Rev-0051), Swim suit (KS-0569), Double Heart (KS-0001), flower (RS-0128).

New strawberry alpha

This new alpha is as tasty as it sounds. I couldn't wait to use it.

Being that the weather has been so nice recently I thought it might be time to get out the BBQ. I mean it would be rude not to. This year I thought I'd do it in style and make some invites. I have used the strawberry font for the lettering.

Dragonfly

I am loving the new Quickutz Dragonfly font. It's very feminine and girly and is a beautiful addition to this baby card. I have used the 2x2 'native american' die for the baby.

Thanks for listening

I know that when I've had a bad day, I can always rely on my mum or my girlfriends for a good old moaning session on the phone. To compensate for this I have made a card to send to thank them. In true Wendy style I have cut out the telephone 3 times in white card and then once in pretty spotted paper, then layered on top of each other. I have finished by adding a greeting using moxie as it is fun and funky and one of my all time fav fonts.

Crafts U Love birthday

What a wonderful day it was on Saturday and a pretty warm one at that. Firstly, I would like to thank Paula and Geoff for putting on such a fabulous event, it was incredibly well organised as usual. I would also like to thank Tracy, Heidi and Lyn for looking after me and Big thanks to Becce and Junie for the smashing cups of coffee too.

It was so nice to see so many familiar faces Justine, Jo, Angela, Sara and Rachel to name a few but also everyone that came along to show their support.

It was lovely to be sitting next to Helen, we did have a laugh! She made some beautiful cards with the Inkadinkadoo Clear stamps. Kim Fees designs with the new Alota stamps were very cute too.

Continuing with the animal theme, I have one last card for you from Saturday. This week I shall be putting some new ideas together. Come back and visit this week.

Best wishes,

Wendy xx

Nellie the elephant

The sun is still shining and I am still crafting.

I have put together a card which may be nice to send to a girlfriend. I have used the tombstone again for the legs and the 'corn in the cob die' as the edging on the little knickers. It wouldn't be a question I'd ask my husband as I wouldn't like the answer!!!

And another animal card

Has it been hot enough for you today? I'm sweating like the proverbial pig!!!!

Anyway, I have another animal card for you (certainly getting my monies worth from the latest release). It didn't register until yesterday that I could use the lion without the mane. She makes a perfect lioness. The card I have put together could be for many ocassions (wedding, anniversary e.t.c). I have again used the tombstone for the bodies.

Cutie Pie

I just wanted to show you that the larger revolution animals could be adapted very nicely to make cards. I love the elephant and she really lends herself to this baby card. I have seen the body made out of a vase but I have used the 2x2 tombstone die (KS-0764).

Hope to see you at the Crafts U Love 2nd birthday this Saturday. I will be using all of the new animal dies and the lovely borders too.

More animal cards

I am just loving these new dies, you've probably guessed that already. In partcular I am loving the cute giraffe. I am struggling to make a body for him but I will continue to rumage through my dies. In the meantime, a card using the train. I did a birthday card a little like this but I thought it would make a lovely new arrival card. I hope you like it.

I am teaching at Crafts U Love tonight and I'm as ever excited. I am using some lovely Stampendous stamps to make some teenage cards. I'll post them on the blog tomorrow.

Quickutz CHA releases!!

Oh how excited am I about the new Quickutz releases from CHA,how many alphabets?!!!

My eye is only the following: Aquarius, Dragonfly and Moonlight

I can't help thinking that I'm going to 'need' the new Revoluation Love as well when it comes onto the market this autumn. This tool is not only motorised but it has a massive 9 inch opening. The possibilities are endless and my mind is working overtime at the moment. It will also be compatible with all dies currently on the market. I think this is a sensible thing for Quickutz to do.

Oh well, I will have to contain myself for a little longer but it's not going to be easy.

My weekend

Have spent the weekend crafting again. I'm rapidly trying to get some samples together for the CUL birthday on 26th July.

I spent a few hours at Craft You Love yesterday afternoon watching Kim Fee with the lovely Sarah Kay stamps. Kim made some really smashing cards with these stamps and I admire her patience with the decoupage.

I'm attaching another sample card. I managed to make my lion topper into a card that would be ideal for a young childs birthday. Back to crafting.....

Animal mad!!!

I thought it was about time I updated my blog as I have omitted to do so in the last few months (ahem!!!). Anyway, I am just loving the new Quickutz releases. I have to say they have really pulled it out of the bag on this ocassion. Was a tad disappointed that only the heads were on offer but I must add that the cat die (KS-0528) is a very good body substitute for both the lion and elephant. Anyway, I am attaching some samples, a couple I did at Crafts U Love on an evening class and the other I am beginning to prep for the Crafts U Love birthday day (26th July).

Hope to be posting more samples soon

Glad to be back designing

I took a long break from the magazine work last year due to ill health. However, I have just started designing for QCME again. I am thrilled to pieces as they are such a lovely company to work for and really support my ideas.

I have a black and white article coming up in the next issue and then a little break before it's full steam ahead.

Yes I know Christmas has been and gone

Christmas is still my favourite time of the year and although it's now over, there was one card that I get asked about alot. I am attaching a photo, so you know what I'm talking about.

By the way, Father Christmas is made using the Quickutz watermelon die, the BBQ and the Vixen gift set (his hat).

Make-it Show - Farnborough

I had such a wonderful 3 days at the Make-it show last weekend with the guys from Crafts U Love. I made many samples and I think Zoe will be posting them on the CUL Blog. If there's any questions you want to ask me about the samples, just drop me a line and I'll be happy to assist.
