Little Christmas Money Bags

Only 3 days to go now and if your relatives are like some of mine, they never know what they want so I end up sending them money.

Instead of putting the money in the card, I have cut out and decorated these little boxes so it looks more like a gift. The box is from the Lifestyle Crafts Black Friday Release and is so versatile!! I have also made tags using the 'Tag It' Gift Set and used the pop out stars in the same set.

Last miniute Christmas cards

I haven't had much time to make Christmas cards this year, so I have made some quick last minute cards to send to our neighbours.

I always keep the design simple so that I can replicate the card as many times as I need. However, a change of colour on the card makes it a little more exciting.

Enjoy, Wendy!

3D Advent Calendar

Hi all, I've been away for a while but I'm coming back with some new Christmas projects. Here is my first:

Products used
Quickutz / Lifestyle Crafts
- Matchbox Die (L-CC-020)
- Nesting Frames #3 (DC0176)
-Chandelier 4 X 8 Alphabet

EK Success Circle Punch
Bazzill Bling in sparkle, infatuation, in the pink flat broke and glass slipper
Silver Mirror Card

Using the Matchbox Die cut out 24 boxes in the desired colours and assemble. You should have 2 parts to each matchbox, the outer casing and the inside box.

With the inside box part of the matchbox, punch out a semi circle in the front so that the drawers are easy to open.

Cut out 24 of the 2nd smallest nesting frames and attach to the front of the match boxes.

Cut out the numbers 1 to 24 in the silver mirror card and attach to the nesting frame on the front on the boxes.

Assemble the 24 outer casing of the matchboxes in the shape of a Christmas tree. I used very fine staples to do this but you can use glue or a very tacky tape.

Insert the inside boxes into each of the outer casings and your advent tree is complete

Simple Birthday Card

I'm back using the Lifestyle Crafts 'possibilities' dies. For the base card I used the nesting scalloped rectangle dies and for the silver mirri layer I used the nesting eyelet squares.

I used my favourite blossom die to make the main feature on the card. The alphabet was from the 'Hello, Goodbye' shape set which was part of the 'Fresh Start' release.

Enjoy,

Wendy X

Card for a baby boy

I have been a little naughty not posting in a while. I've been gearing up for Christmas as from the end of October most of my posts will be on a Christmas theme :-).

Anyway, back to todays card. I was commissioned by a friend to make a baby boy card for her friend. I used the Nesting Lace Circle dies from Lifestyle Crafts for the base card (these dies are fab). I also got chance to use their bunny too. He has a very soft tummy, feet and ears!

Letterpressed Thank You Card

I made a Letterpressed card a few weeks ago and had some of the design left over. I like to make full use of the ink and always print a few things extra than I need.

This card was made using the 'Damask' printing plate. The design was printed onto Letterpress card and one dry I could out the main part of the card using the new Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Lace Scalloped Squares. I then layered it onto a black scalloped square before mounting it onto the base card. The butterfly is the 3D shape club die.

To finish, I used the smae Letterpress set to stamp the 'Thank You' and then cut it out using a nesting ovals die

Enjoy, Wendy X

New piece of Jewellry

I just love the Lifestyle Crafts possibilities release and as I'm doing a little bit of jewellry making at the moment I made a little pendant using some of their new dies. I used the nested lace circles and one of the flowers.

I cut the shapes out in opaque sanded shrink plastic and shrunk down. I then used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze to colour. These paints are truly amazing and leave such a nice finish. I stuck the flower to the pendant with Judlikins Diamond Glaze.

Enjoy,

Wendy X

Black and White girly card

It's been a little while since I posted. I took a week off to celebrate becoming a qualified accountant. I'm really excited as there will be no more studying for me, just lots of crafting :-)

Here is a little card I made using the Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress System, a bit of shrink and my favourite flip flop die.

The base card is self explanatory as it made by using the Damask Letterpress plate with black ink. Once dried, I cut a circle into the card and layered a scallop around the edge.

The flip flops were cut out in black shrink plastic and then heat shrunk. I then added a little bling for effect.

Enjoy, Wendy X

Felt Hair Ribbons

OK, still playing with the new nesting dies from Lifestyle Crafts. I had some felt lying around the house and wanted to making something a bit different.

Each ribbon is made uisng the 3rd smallest flower in the set. You need 4 flowers for each ribbon. Basically, fold each flower in on itself so that you have a heart shape and secure this by sewing in place. Attach 4 together and then onto a plain ribbon and you have a beautiful little hair piece!!

CMIT Halloween Challenge

Coming up in early September is our Halloween challenge for the CMIT blog.

I love Halloween, all the dressing up and fun and games. My project for the challenge is specifically designed to house 'treats'. The mini Take Out Container and Paper Bag dies are great for this.

My favourite part is the handle on the little box made from Lifestyle Crafts plastic sheets from their Media Range. I also took advantage of the new 'nesting dies' to help me decorate the items. If you are wondering the little box has the word 'BOO!' round it.

Enjoy, Wendy X

Nesting Dies

I just love all dies that are nesting so it's no wonder that the new Lifestyle Crafts release is on my agenda.

This card is made using the new Nesting Lace Rectangles and the Nesting Scalloped Rectangles. I also used my favourite nesting circles and scalloped circles.

I used vellum on this card and Lifestyle Crafts have a fantastic double sided adhesive which is great when working with vellum. I attahced the vellum to te card before cutting out the circle as it would have been a nightmare lining up the holes.

Just a simple little card to send as a birthday wish or a thank you

Sweet and Spicy

I had some really lovely products arrive on my desk yesterday and the 'Sweet and Spicy'shape dies was one of the items. I've wanted this set for ages as it has the most amazing die in it. Here is what I made.

I know it's a Christmas item but there are only approx 131 days to go and I need to be prepared this year. It's a little wreath. I cut out 4 of the shapes and stuck 2 lots of 2 of them together. I then put them either side on an acetate circle. I intend to thread some ribbon through to make it a hanging ornament.

To finish, I added some gems and a little bow.

Enjoy, Wendy X

Paper Bag - Gift Bag

Good evening crafters - I am so glad that Monday is over. I love my job but Monday's are a long day.

I've made quite a bit of jewellery lately so I made a gift bag today so I could send my jewellery as a present. I've used the Lifestyle Crafts 'paper Bag' die as it makes a beautiful gift bag.

I cut out the bag and then cut 3 circles into it, then outlined them with scallops. Basically, take a scalloped circle die, cut it out and then use the same circle you used to make the holes in the bag to make a hole in the middle of the scallop. I used acetate behind the holes so that I could adhere flowers to the bag.

I then layered uo some pretty flowers and left a spare place for an initial.

Hope you enjoyed this little project

Pizza gift box and 3D flower

Busy weekend, and not enough time for crafting!! However, I did make this little gift box today using the 'Pizza Box die' from Lifestyle Crafts and scalloped circles.

The pizza box needs no instruction, but I saw this flower design on line somewhere and I adapted it to my style. The flower is basically made out of 8 scalloped circles folded into quarters and stuck to a full scalloped circles. Once placed on top of each other and secured with a gem, they fan out beautifully and you had a lovely 3D effect. I used vellum as it made it more sturdy.

There's a great excuse to buy these dies as they are currently on sale at the stores mentioned below.

Enjoy,

Back to school

My little baby niece Chloe starts school in September and I thought I'd make this little alphabet picture to help her with her ABC's.

I truly cannot list all the dies I used by I did want to showcase the 'Blue Sky' alphabet from Lifestyle Crafts. It's a lovely size and has a shadow too. I have had a wicked idea to use this font but you'll have to wait as it may take some time to complete.

Enjoy, Wendy X

More shrink jewellry

I am still loving my shrink and there is a program running over at CMIT that I am heading up.

So here's my latest design and the instructions:

-Cut out 12 large circles measuring 3 ¼”, 6 in black and 6 in white

-From the middle of the circles cut a hole measuring 2” in each of the large circles. You will be left with a ring.

-In each ring on either side punch a small hole measuring 1/8” then shrink all rings per manufacturer’s instructions.

-Punch out the 3rd largest heart in the nesting hearts set. Punch 2 holes at the top of the hearts for the jump rings to thread through. Shrink down and immediately press the Letterpress Printing Plate into the shrink before it cools.

-Punch out the smallest blossom in the set in red and shrink down. Attach to the heart with super glue.

-Attach all rings together with the ‘jump rings’ and then to the chain.

Heart necklace made with dies and shrink

I love trying to find many ways of using my dies and you may have noticed that shrink plastic is one of my favourite methods currently.

Baby Girl Card

OK, I haven't gone baby mad this week. It's just that a lovely couple my husband and I know had a little baby girl this week and I had to make a card.

This card is very straight forward to make. Firstly I layered the pink paper onto the card and then cut a circe through the card. I then used a scalloped circle to edge it.

The baby was made using my favourite dog die and her dress was made from a bell.
Lastly a little flower and my new favourite font (Handmade) to finish the card.

Baby Boy Card

As you know I love making baby cards and I was more than happy to make this card for my lovely friend Trish who made me the amazing gluten free muffins.

This card is very simple and relatively quick to make. The background was made by taking a cloud die and chalking around it.

The washing line was made with the trunk of the palm tree from the 'Tropical Splash' release. The clothes were from an older 2X2 set, which are still available.

Letterpressed Thanks!

I have really started to begin to nail the Letterpress System from Lifestyle Crafts. I really love the large plates that come in the sets.

Today I have used the tile Letterpress Plate and the Hot Pink ink. Always make sure you have enough ink applied to the plate, but not too much that it smudges. You will get perfect results everytime. This coupled with my most favourite font at the moment(Handmade) makes for a pretty little thank you card.

I also wanted to dedicate this card to the lovely Teresa over at CMIT. Since joining the design team in February, I have had such a ball and long may it continue. I just wanted to thank her for believing in me and giving such a huge opportunity.

Funky Flip Flops

OMG, I just love working for the CMIT Design Team. The lovely Teresa who owns the company managed to get one of my favourite old faithful dies, the flip flops. I know she will have them in store really soon too.

I basically cut out the flip flops in shrink plastic. I then stamped on them. I used a flower from the new Tropical Flourish die (DC0147) to create a stamp.

Make sure that you punch all holes before shrinking (these will be holes for the wire to feed through). Once the items have been shrunk down, feed seed beads on to wire and thread through. To finish, add jump rings to attach to a chain.

Sneak Peak - coming soon to CMIT and CEM

I have been working on the Creating Memories in Time Design Team (CMIT) since February this year and to say that I am having a ball would be an understatement.

As you know CHA is coming up soon and although I had a very kind offer to be flown out there, I am so busy doing my day job so unfortunately had to turn it down this time!!

Anyway, back to CHA. The CMIT Design Team have some very exciting projects coming up after CHA so you will not want to miss this. I can't say anything else at this time but I want to give you a sneak peak as to what's in store.

Also the eBay store has an amazing sale on at the moment and it is really not to be missed. There are dies on sale from £1.00 upwards. How cool is that!

Pop up wedding card

I haven't made a wedding card in a while so I thought I'd indulge myself tonight.

This card is very simple yet elegant and easy to make. I have used the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Hearts and Nesting Scalloped Hearts.

To create the base card, fold a piece of card in half and use the nested scalloped heart to form your card.

With the other nesting heart, cut this out 3 times in red and attach to the front and the 2 inside pages of the card.

Punch out the cake and layer. This is attached to the base card with another strip of card folded evenly into three 2.5cm sections. Attach this to the top half of the inside card and it should stand on it's own.

Just some wording and additional hearts to finish and you are done.

Enjoy, hugs, Wendy X

Stamping with your Quickutz dies

I know the stamping with your dies technique was around a few year ago but I still love it.

I've been playing tonight with my Chick-A-Dee 4 X 8 alphabet. I basically cut it out in foam, inked it and then stamped onto shrink plastic. The design is very basic but I just wanted to share the effect you can get.

Girly Spa Day

My sister is the big 40 this year and we are going to celebrate by having a spa day (it will probably end up being a spa weekend :-). I designed an invite for this ocassion.

I have used the paper doll spa doll outfit as the main part of the card. It is so cute and I just love the face mask. Reminds me of the time my sisters dog ate the cucumber off of my eyes whilst having a home facial, LOL!

I also used the Diesel Grand alphabet for the 'S' and Sketchbook for the remaining letters.

Enjoy, Wendy X
